Todos Santos: An Oasis at the Tropic of Cancer
Discover the historic center, orchards, and creative life of this Pacific oasis.

Near the Tropic of Cancer, between the peninsula’s arid landscapes and the Pacific Ocean, Todos Santos surprises visitors with its lush oasis.
Water has shaped its history and identity. Once centered on sugarcane cultivation, the region has a strong farming tradition, now enriched by organic and regenerative agriculture, agroforestry and soil conservation initiatives.
Todos Santos also has a remarkably varied identity. From the 1980s onward, artists and newcomers from around the world helped create its cosmopolitan, creative atmosphere. On the coast at Punta Lobos, fishers continue the panga fishing tradition closely tied to local communities. Designated a Pueblo Mágico, Todos Santos now brings together local traditions, agriculture, heritage, art and nature.
We start the day with a machaca burrito and café de olla, then head to Punta Lobos for a hike between desert, cliffs and the Pacific. Back in town, we explore the historic center, the mission, galleries and artists’ studios before sharing lunch at a local restaurant.
In season, the hike may be replaced by a visit to a sea turtle hatchling release, an opportunity to learn about local conservation initiatives.
